Registering a Partnership

• Partnership registrations are between two or more entities that are fully registered as owners. Syndicates and companies can both be encompassed within a partnership.
• Registration can be accessed on the BHA Racing Admin site > Trainer menu > My Yard menu > Register Partnership
• Accept Terms & Conditions. The official racecard name for the owners should be entered, and select whether charges are to be split between existing bank accounts.
• Enter partner information, either select from the list of owners, or manually enter on the next page. Remember to click ‘Add Partner’ after each person added.
• Once all partners are added, click to Register at the bottom of the page, and double check all details on the next page before submitting. Print copies for Elaine and for office as proof of registration.

Registering a Syndicate

• Syndicate registrations are between two or more entities, only one of which requires to be a registered owner. Companies can be encompassed within a partnership.
• Johnston Racing uses Weatherbys bank accounts for syndicate registrations, which for the KP Partnerships, are to be opened by Elaine. These required a mandate signed by a director for each account to be opened. Weatherbys then require an ‘Owners Template’ to be completed with all initially signed-up owners and sent to Weatherbys banking team, currently Alun Watkins.
• Registration can be accessed under the Owner menu when acting on behalf of Johnston Racing Ltd > Register Syndicate.
• Accept Terms & Conditions. The official racecard name for the owners should be entered, and select whether Johnston Racing Ltd is to be a member and whether we are to be the main point of contact for any correspondence.
• Enter member information, either select from the list of owners, or manually enter on the next page. For each person select whether they are to be a syndicator or member – each syndicate must have at least one syndicator, who must be a registered owner – for the KP Partnerships typically Johnston Racing Ltd is the only syndicator. Remember to click ‘Add Member’ after each person added.
• Once all members are added, click to Register at the bottom of the page, and double check all details on the next page before submitting. Print copies for Elaine and for office as proof of registration.

Registering for VAT

• Complete a D2 Form, which can be accessed on Help & Support menu > Forms & Guides. Requires a director’s signature.
• Complete Weatherbys VAT Flyer form – requires a director’s signature.
• Complete Partnership List form – requires partners’ Date of Birth and NI number.
• Currently for syndicates of more than 10 members, a VAT2 form is required to be filled in by every member in excess of those first 10 members. Only Section 1 of the form should be completed by the syndicate member.
