Poet’s Society is MJR’s 100th Flat winner of 2017

It was a double on the day for the team as Kit Marlowe, a juvenile colt by Poet’s Voice scored at Newcastle over 7F under P J McDonald for owner Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed. The February colt was prominent throughout and kept on strongly to win the novice stakes by a neck.

MJR’s 24th century of domestic Flat winners was achieved courtesy of Poet’s Society on the July course. Poet’s Society and William Buick (pictured above) contested the 5F handicap. Six of the 10 declared runners started. Poet’s Society, like Kit Marlowe, is by Poet’s Voice and owned by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed. The MJR-trained three-year-old rallied on strongly when challenged to win by a neck.
