July off to a good start with an across-the-card double

Christine Budden & Partners’s Rebel Assault (pictured above under Emma Fisher) travelled to Windsor to take her chance in the Class 2 conditions stakes in which five were to run. Three were declared non-runners which meant Rebel Assault and Tonkolili were to be the only runners of the 5F event. The MJR Excelebration filly made all to win by seven lengths under David Probert.
At Chester, Franny Norton partnered Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed’s Hochfeld in the Class 4 handicap over 12.5F. Hochfeld, by Cape Cross, travelled mid-field for the best part of the race. In the final furlong, Franny pressed his mount and won by 1.5 length.
