Glorious start of August!

Further report to follow

The first day of August was also the third day of Glorious Goodwood, a festival at which the Johnston Racing team has excelled for many years. 2019 was to be another glorious year for the Kingsley Park team! After scoring twice on Wednesday 31 courtesy of Sir Ron Priestley and Mrs Bouquet, Mark saddled Nayef Road to win the Group 3 Gordon Stakes by a neck under Silvestre de Sousa and later in the afternoon Governor Of Punjab took the valuable nursery by a length. On Friday, James Doyle drove Homespin home to take the six-furlong nursery by a length and a quarter. At Musselburgh, Too Hard To Hold provided the team with an across-the-card double when Vincent Ho won the five-furlong nursery handicap by one and a half length.
On the final day of Goodwood, Joe Fanning was once again aboard King’s Advice. The pair delivered a fantastic finish in the Qatar Summer handicap, proving that King’s Advice is a very special horse, having won eight times since trained by Mark as a five-year-old. The team scored a treble on the day as Rose Of Kildare dead-heated at Newmarket under William Buick and Good Night Mr Tom made all at Hamilton under Vincent Ho.
