Across-the-card double courtesy of Mildenberger and Chupalla

At Haydock’s evening meeting, Franny Norton partnered Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed’s Mildenberger (pictured above under Giovanni Silva) in the 7F novice stakes. This was the Teofilo colt’s first outing. With two non-runners, seven lined up and Mildenberger set off second favourite. Franny chased James Tate’s Collateral until a furlong from home when he asked Mildenberger for a winning effort. The colt responded well and won by one and a half length.
The double was completed when Chupalla won the 7.5F handicap at Beverley under Joe Fanning. The three-year-old Helmet filly, also owned by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, landed the race by three quarter of a length.
