25th century ahead of Sharna’s first win!

At Chelmsford, the Jukebox Jury filly Kilbarchan (pictured above under Graham Pettigrew), owned by Dr Jim Walker & Partner, won the seven-furlong novice under Franny Norton on her debut. Kilbarchan made all but 50 yards in the last furlong when headed by runner-up Water Diviner, but rallied on to win by a neck. Kilbarchan is the team’s 100th domestic winner of the year, a feat achieved 25 consecutive years.
At Ripon’s evening meeting, apprentice Sharna Armstrong enjoyed her first win aboard Winged Spur. The three-year-old daughter of Motivator, in the colours of the Kingsley Park Owners Club, won the 10-furlong apprentice handicap by five lengths!
